My name is Mark B. McCracken and I am a candidate for Congress in the 5th Congressional District in Pennsylvania.  I bring to the race a solid record of public service and results as Clearfield County Commissioner since 2004 and through 10 years of service on the Clearfield Area School District Board of Directors from 1993 to 2003.

During my time as a county commissioner in the north central Pennsylvania region, I have seen the problems that our rural counties and our citizens face.  I feel I have the unique qualifications and hands on experience to be your next representative in the United States Congress.  I know our communities need help with economic and rural development and that our citizens just want the chance at a better life for their families.

Two things that I'll be up front and honest about.  First, I'm not running for a seat in the U.S. Congress to solve problems on the other side of the world, I'm running to solve problems here in the 5th Congressional District.  Second, I have no desire to become a Washington D.C. insider.  My roots are here in north central Pennsylvania and this is where my wife, daughter and I will maintain a full time residence.  North central Pennsylvania is our home.
